Tick, Tick...Boom!

My favorite musical.

I’ve never been a huge musical fan but this film thoroughly suprised me. In fact, I actually went into this movie not realizing it was a musical. But that did not stop me enjoying this movie and what it had to offer.

At its highs, Andrew Garfields talent and the musical numbers shine brightly. At its lows, its struggles to convey a serious tone, as its need to showcase a comedic musical number, overshadows a specific emotional scene.

Besides that, Tick, Tick...Boom! tells a beautiful, yet tragic story about Jonathan Larson and the journey he went through to bring his musical dreams to the stage.
